Updates from Justin as of 7.9.24

Good afternoon,

I have two important updates to share with you:

  1. One of the last things to do in the garage is take the old expansion joints out and paint the directional arrows.  I chose to do this off season so the least number of cars would be affected.  This will take a minimum of one week to start and complete.  The plan is to start July 11th, first thing in the morning.  For those in residence that park on the west side of the parking garage, we have given you temporary parking spots on the east side garage.  I’m going to make “bridges” to go over these expansion joints while they cure, please use these areas to walk over the bridge.  During this process you cannot drive to the west side, but you can still use the P3 and P1 elevator, and both service.  Please be extremely careful crossing over these temporary bridges, especially if you have a walker, wheelchair or stroller of any sort as it could knock you off balance.  We have plenty of guest parking if any in house residents would rather park up there during this process.
  2. One of the very large projects we are undertaking this year is upgrading our fire alarm panel system.  We are at the point where they need to take the old system offline, and start to install the new main cabinets in the fire alarm room.  This means our system will be offline, and our staff will have do a Firewatch on the entire building, once per hour.  We go floor to floor in the back hallways, (not in the units) to listen for or smell any dangers.  Unfortunately, this is going to last at minimum 2 weeks.  I will be posting on any entrance/exit doors a sign that says “Attention, fire alarm panel is being upgraded at this time.  If you see any emergencies , call 911 IMMEDIATELY”.  If such an incident should arise, after calling 911, please call our front desk if possible so we can be of help and if needed, warn others.  The front desk phone number is 239-592-1700.  This change will start tomorrow, July 10th.

Please let me know if you should have any questions.  Have a great day,

Best,

Justin Thornton, LCAM
